I am 63 years old, very active physically, with a left inguinal hernia that seems to have developed gradually. I have no pain but there is a feeling of weakness when it protrudes.
Is it inevitable that the hernia will get progressively worse without surgery or is there a reasonable chance it will remain stable long term?
My current symptoms would not really warrant surgery, in my mind, but if it is nearly certain that surgery will ultimately be required than I might as well get it over with.
Thanks for your consideration of my question.
