Hernia MD-Post-Op Question

Hi, I just had my second inguinal hernia repair (had left side done 5 yrs ago). I will be two weeks post-op tomorrow. I'm having some more difficulty this time around. It has been two weeks, and I still have a hard lump over the incision (it was an open repair). It is still swollen and pretty sore. Is this normal? If so, when does the lump go away? I saw my surgeon last week, and he said everything is fine. It just seems to be taking longer this time, and I'm only 27 years old! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
