Make sure you have a good surgeon.
I had a large right side and had lap procedure after searching for a turning down several surgeons.
Did not want a cath. and made arrangements not to have one. Let me leave hospital without peeing and I did so several hours later at home.
General Anst. was no problem at all.
Using ice day and night, I was off of work
(office job) for one day. Testies painful
for a few days, then turned blue. No problems after that.
The key for me was good communication with doctor. If they don't want or have no time to answer every question you have, get someone else!
It was first operation at age 57 and I was scared but thanks to my doctor interface, it went fine.
