First off, you don't need a CAT scan. This would be a waste of money and is not needed to make the diagnosis of a hernia. Secondly, get the idea of going to England off your mind. It would be a waste of your time and travel money when you have so many more resources close to home. If you are convinced that going to another country is better, go to the Shouldice clinic in Canada. There are many excellent surgeons in your area. Check listings at The American Hernia Society website, herniainfo.com, or yourhernia.com. Dr Dennis Fowler is a well know hernia surgeon in NYC.
