My Brother-In-Law Had hernia surgery about nine years ago. Shortly after his surgery, he lifted something that was well over his weight limit and pulled something, but he never went back into the doc to find out what. Now he is in the hospital (or was). The surgeon told him that his guts were hanging out of his stomach due to his hernia coming back, and I guess the guts are coming out under the mesh that was in place after his surgery nine years before. The doc said that his guts have been hanging out from his stomach for so long that he would not be able to perform the surgery, because his stomach is now too small to put all the intestines back into his stomach. How is this possable? And can't they do something for him? If not what are his chances of living thru this, if he does not have anything done? Or how long might he be able to survive this? They have since sent him home until.....I don't even know when. Please if anyone has any answers I would really be greatfull. Thanks
