Hello Dr. and others,
I had open inguinal hernia surgery on 1/28/09, 1 week ago. THe first 3 days were hell. I had no problem urinating, however was constipated for 2 - 3 days. The worst part of this has been getting up in the morning, or after sitting for a while, and getting an unbearale burning feeling near the scar and above my scrotum where I was shaved. Its literally like someone is holding a lit match in that area, and sometimes it doesnt ease up for 5-10 minutes or so. Thank god that has subsided. Surgeons office says this is normal.
After 1 week, today I was doing more around the house. Bending,(not too much) walking, and overall adding more movement and strain, with not much pain to speak of.
Tonight it is more sore and tight than it was earlier today. Is it possible to damamge the mesh or the incision? My doctor used some kind of glue to close the incision.
