She will be fine. The hernia is fixed as soon as the surgery is over. Activity will not make the repair any weaker. When you patch a tire, you put it right back on the car and drive, you don't wait a few weeks for the patch to "heal". Hernia surgery, tension free with mesh, is the same concept. There is almost nothing that can hurt a recent hernia repair if it was properly done. Take some cough medicine and relax.
