I went through the same thing as you. I had my hernia for a year before my operation. Really, I think leaving the hernia can do more damage, than once believed, or it is unknown what the hernia can do if not repaired. Mine was not strangulated, but it was hanging out my testicles(incarcerated). I read somewheres that the faster the hernia drops down, the faster inflammation can set in. My inflammation seemed to be triggered by the surgery, but really the bowel is trying to stay alive while it is down there, so there is poop where it shouldn't be. I got home from my surgery and could not put my weight on my legs for 4 days, and the could not lift my right left any higher than 6 inches off the ground for 10 days. This is not normal. 3 months later I had all the problems you mentioned, 6 months later I had to shuffle my weight, and then kind of dance, and then all hell broke loose. I am now slowly recovering from a really severe (unheard of)case of inflammation. My family doc was the one who tipped me off, the blood source for the groin area I was told came up from below, turns out the blood flow was being modified, because the inflammtion had spread into my cheeks of my rear end(basically, right at the tip, where I sit all my weight), this had gone numb along the way without me noticing, hence the flow was disturbed. Hot sitz baths, and asperin are slowly opening everything up. So try anti-inflammatories, with hot baths. A guy knows when they have a hernia, especially when it was hanging out of me, but I was told it was epiditimis, with ultrasound. I waited 8 months to see a urologist, who didn't even poke his finger up the canel, waste of time. This is why it took me a whole year to get it fixed, and set the stage for my pain, and suffering that I had to handle for soo long.
