Hernia Surgery Discussion Board: lymph node removed

hello, i had double hernia surgery 2 days ago.
the surgeon also removed a lymph node. this was unexpected. i'll get the biopsy results next week. my question is: can a hernia cause a lymph node problem? or something worse? why would he do this?
