I went to a surgeon yesterday for a consultation on the repair if a small right groin hernia. He uses the Kugel patch and told me to research it. In doing so I found discussion of other systems including the Surgisis biodegradable patch. Has anyone had any experience with these? I see now that the National Institute of Health is doing a blind trial comparing outcomes with the Surgisis material and the Prolene mesh. I donŐt think that I want the Kugel patch. I think that I would prefer the Surgisis patch if I could find someone who has experience using it. Would anyone know a surgeon using the Surgesis material in the Washington, DC area?
