Hi, Please bear with me as a give you a quick rundown of my situation. On Nov 29, I had a total hysterectomy (everything gone) which did not go so well. I was in the hospital for 9 days and I developed a severe infection. The infection made like this hideous sac under my incision. I was on antibiotics for 7 weeks and referred to another doctor.
I went to him and things seemed to be going well the next two months later. I noticed the sac had grown and he believed as a result of the surgery I had developed a hernia. Well, during surgery he discovered all of my small intestines had fallen out and I was in surgery for 4 ½ hours. All of my intestines became fused with my skin and as they tried to put it back into place, holes start popping up. They called in another surgeon and had to cut off 3 inches of my small intestines.
Well, this last surgery was April 16 and I had been doing fine until about 3 weeks ago. I am starting to have pain in my lower groin area and in my abdomen. The pain seems to be getting worse and is on both sides of my abdomen. At times it feels like cramps but my abdomen is always sore.
Given the extensive trauma my body has been through, does this seem out of the ordinary as far as the healing process goes? It has been 3 months. I would appreciate your insight and advice. Thank you.
