The Bard Plug is a faulty device that needs to be removed from the market. Though most patients have no problem after surgery, there is a significant percentage of patients that develop chronic groin pain syndromes as a result of this heavy weight plug. The plug contracts and hardens in many patients and leads to chronic irritation, entrapment of nerves and tissue, and pain.
It is too soon after your surgery to be concerned just yet. Use advil and give it a little more time. It is unlikely that you will need to have the plug removed.
