I would like to ask you your thoughts on the use of plugs combined with mesh for inguinal surgery.(re:Bard-Plug and Patch aka-Perfix) I know there have been concerns from their use. Exactly what are the concerns and risks. I recently (5 weeks ago) had open inguinal surgery where my surgeon used the plug and patch method for what he describes was a minor weakness in the wall. I am now experiencing quite a bit of post-op pain and discomfort from the site which radiates up through my stomach muscles, as well as my groin and leg. I also experience some post ejaculatory discomfort.(I'm still on pain meds!) Something just doesn't feel right as 12 years prior I had successful open inguinal surgery using just mesh on the other side. Please advise. Thanks!!
