Hi Dylan. I had open surgery for a small hernia on my left and had the same pains you have. I also had the burning pains for about a week and was so severe when I walked around. As for the pain on the skin, well it improves with time and the numbness you describe is the exact same feeling if have. I am now six weeks post op and feeling much better. I am not sure if the numbness will ever come right, but you sure either get used to it or it improves as it does not bother me much now. Hang in there, we in it together. Quintin
