I had a Left Open Inguinal Herniorrhaphy with Mersilene Mesh. Post Op Diagnosis: Laxity in Inguinal Floor 2) Slightly Enlarged Internal Ring without obvious hernia. During the surgery my urologist and a neurologist were also present. They pulled the testicle out of the scrotum and examined it, and the nerve to the testicle and found no problems and placed it back.
During the surgery, they also bathed the area in Lidocaine, which they theroized must have numbed the nerves or something else which caused the testicle pain to go away for a few days.
All along the inguinal ligament I get a constant burning sensation with pain. My Orthropedic Surgeon whom did my hip surgery thinks that I most likely have several different things going on, and said he may repeat the nerve blocks that I had to L3,4 and S1; as he thinks that I had so much going on between the hip and groin that the symptoms most likey intertwined, and I was unable to diffienterate between which pain was coming from where.
The Hip Bursal injections have done nothing for me. I actually live in Minnesota, so I probably wouldn't be able to see Dr. Ramshaw. I would also add that the inguinal ligament pain got worse after the hernia surgery. I did see a neurologist a couple of years ago, and he said "I don't know what your problem is, but it's not neurological" But then again, I had a Professor of Othropedics at the University of Minnesota say that I didn't have a Labral tear even though the Impingement test was positive and that I didn't have hip impingement, but never did a xray, but I had both, along with arthritis in the hip that have been taken care of.
Could I have a impinged nerve such as the iliohypogastric nerve?
