I started having severe left testicle pain in Fall of 2005. I had Direct Hernia Repair in Nov 2005. The pain temporarily went away after surgery. Since then I have had persistant Pain over my left Inguinal region, as in over the inguinal ligament, with tenderness over the pubis. I have had multiple ct and mri scans. I am on my 7th round of physical therapy, and even had left hip impingement surgery.
I was referred last Aug 2007 to a different hernia surgeon for eval of a sports hernia. He referred me back to the hip orthopedist. I have had several steriod injections in the hip area, spinal nerve blocks. And next week I am going in for a Psoas Injection. I still continue to have the inguinal pain, especially with sitting, like something in being pinched in the fold of my leg. Everyone is perplexed. Could this be a complication of the hernia surgery or a sports hernia? I am still on pain meds, and had to quit my job. Workers comp has spent over $150k on my care over the past 2 1/2 years. I am getting towards my wits end. I have made no progress in PT.
I even tried Prolotherapy, which is injected with lidocaine, which did temporarily alleviate the groin/inguinal pain when injected in the area.
