I had open inaugural surgery on the right side 6 days ago with no mesh. The hernia repair seems to be fine, and I have partly numb area on my right upper inner thigh which also doesn't bother me much.
The problem is when I sleep. The best solution seems to be to lie on my left side with no blankets (and freeze). If I use any blankets I heat up and I get a painful burning sensation at the top of my inner thigh which wakes me up. If I lie on my back I get the same sensation. I've also noticed that if I sit with my legs apart I'll get the sensation too. During the day I can adjust my seating or get up and walk it off, but during the night it's not so easy. I've had a lot of bad nights now and it's starting to get to me. Anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions or thoughts? Will it go away?
