Hi,
I had an open hernia surgery repair with mesh on 4/11 on my right hand side - the surgeon said that it turned out to be a direct inguinal hernia. I seem to be recovering OK - the pain in the area of the incision has lessened in 3-4 days and I am able to walk around with little pain. However, I still seem to have pain (sometimes dull and sometimes sharp) in the area between the incision and the right pelvic bone (in fact the pelvic joint itself hurts). When I cough/sneeze, I can really feel it in that area - this seemed somewhat surprising since I expected most of the pain to be in area of the trauma/incision. Any clues or explanations on what may be going would certainly help to ease my mind.
