I'm now 3 days post op after open inaugural surgery on the right side. I'm 38 and fairly healthy but am experiencing two types of pains. The first one is an occasional tug/burn that happens when I get up and move around, and it seems to be getting better. I'm guessing it is from the stitches in the muscle but please correct me if I'm wrong. The second one is a burning/chafed skin sensation that I have on the skin on the lower side of the incision which goes from my upper inner thigh, to the edge of my scrotum. The whole area is a bit numb, so I suspect some nerves have got cut or something. This second pain is showing no signs of improving, and the pain it's self has been keeping me awake at night. Whenever I seem to get sleepy, I get hot and sweaty, and this seems to trigger the pain. Is this common? Are there any suggestions on what can be done to alleviate the pain? How long does this last?
