I'm male, 41, in the UK and had "hernias on both sides" diagnosed at a genito-urinary clinic but the doctor there didn't saying anything else.
I got a lot of right testicular pain when I first got the hernias about 18 months ago in a work accident and my right testicle sometimes drops down lower than the left one, and I have small bulges on both sides. I also had a period of mild lower back pain for a few weeks. Now though I'm not getting any real pains.
I went to a family doctor who said hernias are usually left, there are risks to surgery and I'd have to be in pain to persuade a surgeon to operate and we'll wait and see what happens.
Is that the best thing to do or not?
