I have a hernia...not sure which type, just know that it is on the left side. The surgery is going to take place on a Thursday morning, and the doctor said that it would take two weeks recovery, just being liberal. He said that he thinks that I might be able to be back to work by Monday. I teach school. Is that too soon to be standing so long? I am going to have the lap surgery, by the way.
How common is it that an organ can be nicked, and what complications would tell me that one had? I can't sleep from wondering. I have no past surgeries to form a precedent as to pain, recovery time, etc.
Also, should I pre-x myself in the surgery spot so that I won't come out with a "fixed" right hernia? Or put instructions that I am having hernia surgery and not a castration?
