I am 4 weeks post-op lap bi-lateral hernias & a sports hernia. I feel great! Stitches are removed and have little sensitivity.
I am avid weightlifter and want to begin training again. When can I start with heavy weights, as I was pre-surgery? Should I be focusing on exercises which DO or DO NOT focus on the abdominal region?
My trainer says to do cruches & situps to strengthen my abs & stomach before lifting again. But my buddies say to just lift light weights and avoid the core area (stomach).
Can you help with this confusion? I just want to get back into my routine!
