I have a somewhat similar problem. A CT scan 1 yr. ago said "probable hernia" and a month ago "mod. to large incisional hernia".
The first opinion was very reputable head of hernia clinic and advised surgery as soon as possible. The 2nd opinion was a gen. surg. said its not a "clear" hernia, more like very weak/missing muscle after prior surgery. Another very reputable opinion with much experience in this also said "wait" and return in 3 mos.....looks more like a muscle prob.
Then I saw a regular doc for something else and had him look. He said it seems more like a muscle prob. And that I should do the same thing as I did there....lie down...raise my head up....a couple of hundered times a day to strengthen the muscle.
TWO QUESTIONS:
Is there any way to tell FOR SURE the diff bet hernia and muscle weakness????
Is exercise a good idea ?????
Ooops, one more: What is the actual difference between the two things?????
THANX LOTS
