The mesh plug is not stronger! Your surgeon has told you something for which there is NO scientific data to support.I just returned from the American Hernia Society meeting. There were NO presentations regarding the plug technique. All of the well known national hernia surgeons have long abandoned this procedure. Your research is flawed and inacurrate. I suspect you will be okay, but going forward the plug must be avoided if we are to decrease the incidence of post hernia pain syndromes.
