What do you think would be the normal recovery time from an inguinal hernia using the mesh plug technique. My surgeon says 3-4 weeks max because it's a tension free method and it has a very low recurrence rate and it's good for paitents who do heavy lifting work and have an active lifestyle. He also said the whole 6 week recovery time was of the past since they started useing different mesh techniques. Unless you are doing the pure tissue technique(shouldice method) which would take a bit longer to heal fully, you should be alright.I'm also only 22 and healthy.
