Please note that the Gore product is not the best for ventral hernia repair. It incorporates poorly, has a very high incidence of seroma, and contracts and gets stiff in many patients. A much better choice is Proceed mesh which is a lighter weight mesh with an adhesive barrier. It is used in both open and laparoscopic incisional hernia repairs.
