Sounds like exactly what I went through last October. My experienced surgeon said he did only open and told me how "Unimpressed" he was wih lap repair for hernia's. I read the post in this site and decided to seek a good lap surgeon which I did and was extremely glad I did. If you like I had mine done in Barrington and can refer you to the name of my surgeon who was excellent and experienced in this procedure.
