Hmm. Well, I don't think any of these reasons apply to me. My hernia on one side is definitely pronounced and noticeable, but I don't think it would qualify as VERY large. But I just can't believe an excellent surgeon with no shortage of work would make a recommendation solely based on what he feels comfortable doing. If lap is that much better, why wouldn't he recommend that, especially when he has a partner who does lap?
