Here are some reasons NOT to go lap:
- VERY large hernias
- previous surgery in the lower abdomen (prostate, colon)
- patients who are NOT candidates for general anesthesia
- bleeding disorders and patients taking anticoagulants
- you live in an area of the country where surgeons don't
have the experience to perform lap inguinal hernia
surgery
