I too remember reading that if the show had been picked up for a fourth season, at the end of "Requiem" Bobby would have been the only one who elected to go home, and the others would have stayed.
(Does anyone else have a problem with that? To go for three years desperately trying to find a way home, and then when it's handed to them, they almost unanimously say, "Nah, no thanks!" I mean, really?)
Uni was supposed to go away at that point, and the rest of the kids were to continue on their adventures while becoming less reliant on the Weapons. I don't recall what was to become of the newly redeemed Venger or Dungeon Master, and unfortunately I can't find the interview where I first read this.
I agree, I would have loved to see more episodes, and it would have been a very refreshing change to have a plot other than the kids repeatedly being thwarted in their attempt to get home even though they just saved the Realm again. I'm just not sure that this is ultimately the route I would have liked it to take. I'd want to see some sort of Big Bad creating the overriding conflict and interest in the show, and with Venger no longer a threat, who would that be? The Nameless One himself? Who's left that Bad Venger hadn't already squashed?
