Even if they could take out Uni, that doesn't compensate the absent of Venger.
A story is as good as its villain and no Venger is no D&DC. Simple as that.
And yes, forcing him to be redeemed and stripping his apparence out of him, is killing the character... Cute, rated for children, but killing anyway.
And sure, like Kryschenn said up there, maybe Venger could wanted that redemption but... having the key to his hand, why don't use it himself. I mean, the result could be the same with Mr. Spooky One anyway, using the key himself or other, why don't make the move himself?
All the Requiem screenplay stinks like Uni's dropplings and doesn't matter if episodes take a lot of review and changes during production, only dynamite and gasoline could saved that awful script ¬_¬
Sure all my life I wanted more episodes of the cartoon... In fact I had some idea about a ghost episode (an episode that never existed) that, being a child, I could swear over the Bible I saw back in the day and only when I had access to internet I learned that episode was never made... But trust me, I prefer 27 episodes of awesomeness (well, they could take mostly third season off... specially Twelve talisman nonsense, Kareena cavalcade and Mr. Spooky One premier) that more episodes in the line of Requiem or a cartoon without Venger.
It's like He-man without Skeletor or Thundercats without Mumm-Ra, it makes no sense at all >_<
Even when they did New Adventures of He-man, they took Skeletor across... and they improved him so amazingly that some people call that series 'New Adventures of Skeletor' (yeah, the premise stinks, but Skeletor is awesome in that cartoon series).
Thundercats remake? Mumm-ra is so incredible that I chilled when I saw the first episode.
And about that idea of taking the children to Kara-Tur (Oriental Adventures)... Why I thought in the second cartoon series about Conan with those brats with superpowers and that demon-snake queen or whatever... That series made no sense at all and was so incredible bad that sure they cancelled not out of ratings, but because that cartoon could give cancer >_<
