OK. I didn't read every single reply, but here's what I imagine:
Venger is deathless as long as he is in The Realm of Dungeons & Dragons. Only there does Evil keep his servant from death. Away from the realm, I believe Evil's Venger-Possessor is vulnerable, and that's why Venger feared in The Dragon's Graveyard.
Would Dungeon Master's son die with Venger? Certainly possible, I would think, but we'd hope he would survive, unless he gained enough will to sacrifice himself to destroy Venger if he found another opportunity away from the Realm.
Let's just say it makes a good ending to a fanfic.
