: You can thank the censors of the day for that. He never really
: pulled out anything lethal, except dynamite once, then there was
: the toy tank and the aircraft carrier.
:
: I often wondered, did the hat create the objects he pulled out
: of that hat, or were they transported from earth? I can imagine
: the trouble over a missing aircraft carrier.

:I suppose that an argument can be made either way for how Presto's Hat conjured the objects he pulled out. The way it is shown in the cartoon is so vague, that I doubt any real consideration was given to the actual "how" by the series' writers.
In my own fanfic, I leaned toward the "transported from earth" theory, at least as far as food was concerned. But this was only to provide an "interface point" with the world of "Harry Potter." Reasonable fanfiction hobbyists may disagree.
Regarding the aircraft carrier, were I to refer to it in a fanfic, I might mention the ". . . disappearance of an obsolete carrier that was in "mothballs,"" in a story set after the Young Ones returned from The Realm. Though, if memory serves, the carrier looked fairly modern . . . .

: Wonder how much luck Presto would have conjuring up something
: like that?
:
: Given his track record, I suspect he'd wind up with either a
: water gun or something that sticks out a little flag marked
: "Bang".

: If Presto could pull a high-powered rifle out of his hat, an
: even bigger problem would be finding someone among the Young
: Ones who would actually point it at Venger, take aim, and
: squeeze the trigger. We all know what happened in "The
: Dragon's Graveyard" when Hank had an opportunity to kill
: Venger . . . .
