Interestingly enough, that exact scenario was also presented as a way to kill a powerful wizard in Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files" series of novels, so the concept probably has some real merit. I guess Venger's only protection against it is, in fact, that nobody in the Realm has invented a .50 caliber sniper rifle. Yet.
Wonder how much luck Presto would have conjuring up something like that?
