I like the way you depict sixteen-year-old Severus Snape talking with Diana, right out of Chapter 4 of “Portkey to the Realm.”
You’re very welcome, Model Builder. I don’t see how you can come off as selfish if you are promoting someone else’s character. It seems to me to be instead the height of self-effacement, inasmuch as you succeed best when you copy the original writer most accurately. Don’t worry about being selfish, anyway; being selfish is part of the idea! I just wish we could get more selfishness going — though I also do rather hope that we will get some artists self-sacrificing enough to want to attempt their fellow fans’ characters.
And it is all the more impressive since you admitted that Snape is not your favorite “Harry Potter” character. Though not an “OC” as you originally specified in your idea, “PTTR” was not easy for me to write, and I am honored that you took your time to answer my admittedly selfish request. Thank you, Tann.
By the way, I said “characters” rather than “scenes” precisely because I can do something with the former, but very little with the latter. I rather hope that some of our more skillful artists will jump in to take up the challenge of our fan-fiction authors who want the more elaborate pictures.
Heh, I don’t think I will attempt Caitlin, because A) for the reason I just mentioned, that I don’t do scenes very well, B) I would prefer to limit my own contribution to one character per person, and C) Zakiyah has already done a much better job than I possibly could. Of course, if there were a character who I felt suited my particular (lack of) style well, I might make an exception, but I think Caitlin is rather too lively for my somewhat Gothick manner of drawing.
