Well, the only thing that comes to mind about all this is Dungeon Master's telling them they have a purpose there in the first episode, I believe. In another episode, DM says (where they can't hear him) that when the time is right, they will find the way home.
As for everything else. . . . I like to make up my own answers and use them in fic. It's interesting to see what others come up with on their own. Give it your own depth and twists. What is your individual take on things?
(Oh, I'm finally getting the 1986 Annual! Been wanting one for a while. Got it cheap on eBay. I can't wait to read it! Now the hunt is on the 1987 one!
