Silent Coda! Neil, I had no idea that was yours! And I even remember the original posting. (Wow, was it almost 10 years ago?)
I loved it then, and I still do, so I hope you'll accept a long-overdue compliment on your work. (Since I don't recall if I contacted you directly back then, or if I just posted my appreciation here on the board.) I loved the graphic novel style - it says so much with no words at all and, although it paints a rather dark outlook of the kids' lives as they grow up in the Realm, it is still brilliant and insightful.
