I agree, this is an pretty pathetic way to defeat a bad guy. When I was trying to make "Treasure of Tardos" live-action, that was an issue I had with that episode too - that all DemoDragon had to do was touch the dragonbane, and he'd vanish. But... whatever.
And dang, I HATE Sir John.
if it's not fun, what's the point?
