I think we get to see them in "Prison Without Walls".

I like the snails a lot too - they make really short work of the kids, and the kids have taken on Tiamat, etc...
For me, the ending is has a major flaw - ok, so the Beholder is defeated by "beauty" - and as you correctly pointed out that the flower isn't a particularly nice flower, but what about the kids themselves - surely they are just as beautiful as the flower; and if we're going to go beyond the "skin-deep" beauty, they ARE six children Pure Of Heart... surely that in itself would qualify as beauty.
But no. They had to wave a blue weed at the baddie to defeat it.
Hmm.
