Did Eric actually *do* anything at all in this episode, except whine and run away? He had no redeeming features at all in this one! 
"he is the voice of the cynical adult" - that's true, but I don't know about more prevalent now. Certainly, we are not gong to watch it with such an air of innocent joy (!!) as when we first saw it.
And some us perhaps have a tendency to read more into things than wot-like was intended...
Bobby was in second place, annoyance-wise fro me. Perhaps I've grown too used to the Scrappy-Doo-mentality recently, have two seal-pups that love Scooby-Doo!
And for a cartoon that's called Dungeons and Dragons, at least it did have a dungeon and a Dragon in it's first episode.
