Oh, I hadn't noticed those. How confusing!
Maybe 'Magician' has lesser connotations as a term... the general perception tends to be that Magicians are ordinary people who can perform magic tricks or illusions, while Wizards are fellas with big beards who perform actual magic.
I can't think of any time that Presto is able to use actual magic any more than any of the other kids with their weapons... all the magic is down to his Hat, which regularly misbehaves anyway. It just feels a bit presumptuous to label him as a Wizard, especially in those early days. Maybe in the future if he fulfills his potential...
