hi,
I am studying massage therapy. Have you tried massage therapy? It helps me for a brief period of time, and will at least help with the parts of your body that are compensating for the condition. Also, ice, ice, ice. I can not say it enough. If you live close to the water, dunk them in there. Try streching your calf muscles a lot, this will also help. Try stregthing your arches if your condition is due to flat feet. You can do this by scrunching up a towel with your toes or by trying to pick things up with you toes around the house. If you are overweight try losing and buy new good footwear often. This condition takes a lot of work to get rid of, so hang in there. NO MORE CORTISONE, it deteriorates your joints if used excessivly. Hope this is of some help, Regards, Raegan
: Hello. I have platar faciitis and it
: kills me when I get up from a
: comfortable position, like after
: sleeping. My heels kill me and the
: pain is so severe. I have gotten the
: shots, and they hurt so badly. I
: wish there was an easier and less
: painful way to recieve relief. I got
: a shot in my right foot originally
: almost 2 months ago and the pain
: subsided for a months time, then in
: the left foot and the pain has not
: yet subsided. Need to go back for a
: nother shot but they are so
: expensive and I cannot afford the
: orthotics now. Any other suggestions

: Hi Elaine,
: I have the same problem as you,
: though much less severe. It
: started about 8 months ago. I
: tried wearing a custom orthotic (I
: have flat feet), but to no avail.
: My podiatrist gave me
: anti-inflammatory pills, which
: relieved half the pain for about a
: month, then their effect started
: to fade.
: I have heard that shockwave /
: ultrasound treatment and
: physiotherapy may help. When all
: fail, a cortisone needle shot
: right into the heel may be the
: last measure.
: I am also open to all suggestions on
: how to cure plantar faciatis
: without undergoing surgery or
: getting a needle shot.
