2 years ago I injured both my heels at work. Initially I had pain on the instep where the plantar fascia meets the heel bone. As time has worn on the pain has radiated forward along the plantar fascia, and spread around the heel and now I have very tight achilles tendons and pain radiating up my calf. I have tried all sort of orthotics, stretching devices, heel inserts and nothing helps. I have avoided cortisone shots due to possible heel pad atrophy, and night splints have had no beneficial effect either. Like many with this condition I am running out of treatment options. Some days I now dread getting out of bed because the pain is there right away. Someone suggested extra-corporeal shockwave therapy - (ESWT). Has anyone tried this and how successful was it in relieving the pain? I would appreciate some feedback on this - or any other treatment approach which may have helped.
Thanks,
Nick S
