I have a Medical Company that specializes in lower extremity products. We sell everything from surgical instruments, toe implants (metal and silicone), orthotics and other soft good products. We were established in 1982.
I put together a heel pain kit that we sell to the Orthopedic and Podiatric foot & ankle physicians. Included in the kit is a 20 minute video (complete) on heel pain, a booklet that offers a 90 day calendered program for the patient to follow. (exercise, stretching and if needed weight control). Included in the kit is a night splint, stretching block and heel cups. I sell this presently only to the physicians. The surgeon that is on the video is a nationally known Orthopedic foot and ankle lecturer as well as past president of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is a instructor for the Ossa Tron to other Orthopedic and Podiatric physicians. He is the co-author of the #1 selling foot and ankle book for lower extremity surgeons. We are getting around 85% success rate. He has used this system successfully for years. I have many physicians that use this on patients before they go to the Ossa Tron. Insurance companies require 2 of 5 prerequisites be made before the patient can go to the Ossa Tron. This kit has three of them plus a 90 day calender for the patient to follow. If these do not work, then the physician can go to the next step which is the Ossa Tron. You can look under Maramed.org, pull up new products and look at the Heel Pain Kit. I will sell it to any subscriber for $99.00. There is a insurance reimbursement code for this however I do not bill for it. I know that I have several accounts (DME)that sell this for over $250.00 to their patient and insurance company. I have had many Orthopedic physicians ask me to go with this product to the family practicioner. They are frustrated because by the time the patient comes to their office, they have spent at least 6 months of therapy w/ the family physician w/ no results and then come to visit them. They have to put the patient in this for 90 more days. All of a sudden, it is 12 to 18 months with this pain. It could have been done in 3 months with this product. It is impossible for me to visit with the family physicians however I would be more than happy to discuss reimbursement fees for this product with them.
