If I were voted on to the HCC the first thing I believe should be done to protect the longevity of the site is " Stop the rhetoric and feuding and have everyone get along." which is also a stated goal by the current members, only they so far have been ineffective in making this happen.
The way I propose doing this is to change the by laws so that all members upon joining would have a free vote and be eligible to run for Officers positions and be eligible to be on the HCC.
I feel that by this one act the longevity of the site would be protected because the FS would have one UNITED voice speaking for the pilots and not the current situation where upon joining one is not eligible to vote or run for the HCC or officers of the club until they have been members in ""Good Standing"" for 2 years then they may vote. We could all know that we had a united body dealing with the FS and other duties and if the HCC acted inappropriately according to the MAJORITY then they would be recalled and a new election including ALL affected parties would have their voice collectively heard
With the current system in place I find it in plausible that I or my friends upon joining and being members for 2 years would possibly be considered in "" Good Standing"" with the current handful {( I am not privy to exactly how many voters there are at the moment){maybe you could enlighten me }} of voters, especially after reading some of your previous public comments and that of the only other club member we have heard from.
If any eligible voters would like to address my democratic methods I would be happy to hear from them on this board and address any concerns or fears they have with open democratic voting.
The only way I see to change the current "Us and Them" mentality is to become "Us"
