My great grandfather’s name is Jack Harmon, b. 1884. Jack’s death certificate lists his parents as Gib Harmon and Georgia Jayco. They were married in Pontotoc County, MS. I have come across information on a Gilbert Harmon (nicknamed Gib) married to Georgia Jayco in Pontotoc County. According to this information, Gilbert Harmon was the son of Stephen Harmon and Margaret Burks. Gib and Georgia's marriage was listed as 1883, one year before Jack’s birth. So this tied in nicely. Unfortunately Jack has an older brother Ed Allice, b. 1880, three years before the marriage. Ed’s death certificate also lists his parents as Gib Harmon and Georgia Jayco. Plus the information I found on Gibb and Georgia, does not include Jack or Ed in the list of Children. I find it hard to believe that there were 2 sets of Gib Harmon’s and Georgia Jayco’s married in Pontotoc in the 1880’s. Any information you have is appreciated. Thanks.
