I am researching a line of Harmon family that does not appear to be the same as I have seen here:
Christopher Christian (aka: Cristobal)Harmon b 1737, m Isabel Rafier (Rafies) b 1739, possibly lived in the Mississippi or Memphis areas. Thier son Levy David (David Levi) Harmon b 1757 in N. Carolina, moved to St. Martinville, La area from Mississippi in 1781. David m Nancy Ann White in St. Martinville May 21, 1787. David died in St. Martinville area in 1792. They had three children: Ann, John, Sarah. John, b May 1790 in St. Martinville, m Elizabeth Ann Clark Jan 26, 1813 in St. Martinville. They emigrated to Texas in late 1827, loading all family and possessions on a raft at Whitman's Landing and traveled down the Sabine Rivermaking landfall in present Orange, Texas on Jan 1, 1828 becoming first settlers of Orange. Among their children, Joshua, b Mar 13, 1826, m Cleonize Peveto Jul 7, 1846 in Jefferson Co, Texas. One of thier son's Samuel Cicero Harmon, b Dec 3, 1867, m Ada Samantha Griffin Oct 18, 1896. Thier daughter, Agness Estelle Harmon m James William Benton. Their daughter, Dorothy is my mother.
I have no other information on Christopher Harmon or Isabell Rafier, or location of birth of Levy David Harmon. I do have more information on these families if needed.
