I have hit a complete dead end. My ancestor, Helen Clark ("Nellie") Harmon, born 1860, is the daughter of Edwin R. Harmon and Mary Louise Huntoon, who married in Cook County, Illinois in 1851. I can take the Huntoons back to the Stone Age, but have NOTHING on Edwin. In the 1880 Cook County census, Edwin R. Harmon is shown as a 62-year old retired merchant born in New York. Because Helen's brother was named Horatio, I initially thought perhaps Edwin was a child of Horatio Harmon and Lucy Clark, but he doesn't show up. Can anyone help? Please, please?
