I reside in Sydney Australia and have in my possession a 17th century painting of Peter Pett of Deptford, Master Shipwright. Stenciled in black letters one inch high on the back of the canvas are the words "Property of A.R.Harman". To stencil his name on the reverse of painting suggests that A.R.Harman probably possessed a large number of paintings. The stenciling appears to be the type used in the early 20th century. The painting was de acquisitioned from the Britich National Maritime Museum in 1995 but they do not know from whom it was acquired .
