Thomas Dudley Harmon born Sept 28, 1919, died Mar 15, 1990, was a star player of US College football, a sports broadcaster and patriarch of a family of American actors.
He was born at 118 S. Weston St. in Rensselaer, IN. He was the youngest son of Louis A. and Rose Marie [Quinn] Harmon, who first moved to Rensselaer, IN from Livington Co, IL around 1900.
He was twice named All-Star quarterback, Capt. of basketball team, as a senior won the 100 yard dash and the 200 yard low hurdles at State Finals in Indianapolis, IN. He played football at U.of MI, 1938-1940. During WWII, Tom Harmon enlisted a a pilot with Army Air Corp and won a silver star and a purple heart.
Tom married actress Elyse Knox. He was the father of actress Kristin Nelson, who at 17 married Ricky Nelson. He was father of actress Kelly Harmon. His son is Mark Harmon, actor who married Pam Dawber.
He was the grandfather of twins [Ricky Nelson's sons] Matthew and Gunnar Nelson and of actress, Tracy Nelson.
Tom died of a heart attack on Mar 15, 1990 in Los Angeles, CA, aged 70.

Marie Felix Harmon [20 Feb 1842 Lutzelhause, France, died ca 1923 and wife, Mary Liz Cashin b ca 1841 NY.
Marie was son of;
Jean Baptiste Harmon 12 July 1809, above place in France- died 18 Feb 1886 at Ottawa, IL. His wife was Madelaine Autry.
Jean was son of;
Michel Harmon b 28 June, 1782, d 22 June, 1810, Lutzelhause, France. He married Catherine Paciet.
Michel was son of;
Michel Hermann b 20 Sept 1757 at Obernai, France, d 24 May, 1806. He married Agnes T. Schaiber on 17 July, 1781 Lutzelhasue, France.
Michel was son of;
Andre Hermann b ca 1714, d 17 Mar 1781, both at Lutzelhause, France. He married Marie Mosser ca 1726. She died 17 Mar, 1781 at Lutzelhause.
